DermaTherapy bedding is clinically proven to treat eczema and psoriasis while you sleep.

DermaTherapy is the first bed linen to receive clearance from the American Food & Drug Administration as a Class I Medical Device for the treatment of mild atopic dermatitis and psoriasis.A recent study published in the prestigious Journal of Pediatric Dermatology demonstrated that DermaTherapy bedding can offer sufferers of atopic dermatitis (most common form of Eczema) much needed relief from their symptoms. Patients completed an eight week trial of sleeping in DermaTherapy bedding. Both the doctors conducting the trial and the patients themselves recorded changes in the severity of the eczema and overall quality of life. Compared with standard cotton bedding both the doctors and the DermaTherapy users reported significant improvements in the severity of their conditions. Using EASI scores (Eczema Area and Severity Index) the doctors recorded a significant reduction in the severity of eczema and the associated itching over the 8 week trial period with no changes to the medication used by the patients. The patients also recorded significant reduction in itch and irritation plus an improvement in sleep and a reduction in the use of emollients to control their condition, leading to an improved quality of life. Overall 89% of patients reported an improvement in their condition.


Why it’s Effective

DermaTherapy is made from uniquely structured, long filament fibres that dissipate heat and moisture away from the skin, resulting in a cleaner, drier and smoother sleeping surface. These uniquely shaped microfibres create channels in the fabric to wick moisture away from the skin. No matter how tightly you weave them together there will always be room for air to move through it.

It also has a durable antimicrobial permanently bonded into the fabric to eliminate odours and maintain fabric freshness PLUS a soil release finish to help remove oils, creams, blood and other stains. Any creams, oils or body fluids are washed away from the bedding in a normal wash cycle, making it especially suitable for those people undergoing medication for dermatological conditions.

DermaTherapy is also highly effective in reducing the growth of organisms that are known to adversely affect skin integrity, whereas cotton bedding fabric has virtually no effect.

Although designed for the healthcare market, comfort is by no means compromised with DermaTherapy. Considerably smoother, lighter and thinner than cotton, these special sheets are as soft as the highest percentile Egyptian cotton sheets and feel equally luxurious to touch, and with an average pore size of just 8.5 microns it has the added advantage of helping to protect against dust mites.

Suitable for use in hospitals, DermaTherapy can withstand washing temperatures of up to 90oC but can be laundered just as efficiently at 30oC, helping you to do your bit for the environment and reduce CO2 emissions.
